orignal image 4

This photo was taken outside the school, using only natural light against a brick wall, to change the theme of plainess in my images.
When i used the photo in my magazine, i had to crop the image to remove the green fence, as i felt this area of the photo was not nessisary for my magazine. as well as that i slightly lightened the picture to make the models stand out.

This image again was taken in the art gallery, with the light filtering through the windows just to the left of the models.
When i used this photo i filled the grey background so it matched the colour of the page, i then used the blur tool to make the edges of the photo not look sharp on the page, as well as this i blured the edges around the models, so the photo looked less unedited than what it actually was.

Original Image 2

This image again was taken in the school art gallery, as the lighting was good the day i planned on taking the photo, as i planned on using only natural light, to keep the photos as natural as possible.
When i used the photo i cropped out the boys and has to use the clone stamp around the model on the far left's arm, to remove it fully from the picture to ensure that the girl model on the left was not effect when the photo was cropped to just have the two girls.

Original Photo 1

This is the photo i used for my front cover, i took this picture in the school art gallery, as it has plain white walls, with windows where the natural light can filter through, giving the photos a good look.

When i put this onto my cover i cut out the three boys and lightened the picture slightly, as well as using the spot healing brush to get rid of a few blemishes and imperfections on the boy's body.

Photo planning timetable

Technical Guide to photoshop!

Magnetic Lasso Tool, this is used for when you need to cut something out for example a person, the lasso automatically recognizes where you want to cut around, making it easier when cutting out larger pictures.

Magic Wand Tool, used when you want to get rid of or change a certain block of colour, for example, when using fonts from dafont.com, you would crop then magic wand and select the background to make the image not have a background colour.

Crop Tool, used when you want to get rid of a large area of things but keep one small specific thing, anything that is not in the designated box will be cropped out and deleted, used a lot when creating titles and subtitles for my magazine.

Clone Stamp Tool, used when there is an imperfection on the layer, for example a spot on someone's face, you would alt and click on the area around the spot then left click over the spot and it would disappear, i used this alot on my two main images, and found this really helpful when needing to blend the background of my photo to the background of the actual page.

Eraser Tool, used to erase anything in the layer you don't want, for example a bit of writing in your actual picture, you could use the eraser tool to get rid of this, then clone stamp over the empty space.

Eyedropper Tool, used when i need to select a colour that is already on my page, i used this mostly when using text, to make sure my colours matched exactly.

Text Tool, draw a box then write in it, the font and size is located at the top of the screen, along with the colour selector i used this when i wanted to write something, i used this constantly throughout my project.

questionnaire results

In my questionnaire i asked 20 people from the same age group to answer my questionnaire, from the graphs you will be able to see what the over all result is and how i have constructed my magazine to fit what my target group wants.

diary entry week 7

this week after gaining some feedback on my rough cuts, i started using my feedback to make improvements on my magazine, this has included taking new photos, and changing the main article. Overall this week has been fairly laid back as i feel i do not have too much to improve on.
