diary entry week 1

For the first week of our media coursework, we were given the task to look at existing school magazines and to analyze the cover and contents page, explaining how they are tailored to the wants of the target audience. To help us on analyzing the cover and contents page, we were given a 'geek sheet' which gave us questions we had to answer, in order to write a detailed analysis of the magazine. When analyzing the school magazine, we were told to look at the different codes and conventions used, that we could use in our school and music magazine. After this was completed, we were given an introduction on how to take good photos, using various lighting techniques and how to position the subject. We were shown how to use synthetic lighting and natural lighting.
